Maldon’s Promenade Park was laid out in 1895 as an area where Maldonians could walk and take the air and, most importantly, see and be seen. In 2006, the park was enhanced by the construction of a 200 seat amphitheatre. With the backdrop of the Blackwater river, the salt marshes and Heybridge basin beyond, it is surely one of the most picturesque performance spaces in the country. An ideal location for MacTheatre's production of The Merry Wives of Windsor.
