For all those coming on the St Roger of Beeleigh tour this evening who may be worried about the rain.  This is just a quick note to let you know the event is still going ahead.  We have aranged a contingency plan to move indoors if the rain persists and we will be going ahead this evening.

4th Maldon Festival of Arts Souvenir ProgrammeWe are pleased to announce that the souvenir programmes for the 2011 Maldon Festival of Arts are now available. 

These can be purchased from the festival box office located in Maldon Emporium, Maldon Tourist Information Centre, from the events themselves or from this very site.  All programmes are available for just £2 and are a great souvenir of the fantastic 2 weeks ahead!

David Hughes' show postponed.

David Hughes's show which was due to take place on 7th July during this year's festival has unfortunatly had to be postponed until further notice.  We apologise for the inconvenience caused and will let you know just as soon as a new date has been set for the show, which will take place at The Blue Boar, Maldon.

BBC Radio 4: Any Questions?BBC Radio 4's Any Questions? Which is being hosted by the Maldon Festival of Arts on 25th June, will be just three days after George Osborne delivers his emergency budget on 22nd June.  As a result there is expected to be a high demand for tickets for the programme which will broadcast from St Mary's Church, Church Street, Maldon.

Lord Petre, the Lord Lieutenant of EssexWe are delighted to announce the appointment of our first President. Lord Petre, the Lord Lieutenant of Essex, has graciously agreed to be the first imcumbent of this position.  The Lord Leutenant is already associated with several local organisations such as:  Brentwood Arts Council; Brentwood Shakespeare Company and Ingatestone and Fryerning Horticultural Society (to name just a few), and we are delighted to welcome him to this role of ambassador for the Maldon Festival of Arts.

BBC Radio 4The Maldon Festival of Arts will be hosting BBC Radio 4’s Any Questions? on Friday 25th June 2010. 

Any Questions? is a topical discussion programme where members of the public are given the opportunity to put their questions to a panel of personalities from the world of politics, culture, media and elsewhere. The panel is chaired by writer, broadcaster and political commentator Jonathan Dimbleby.

New Festival Dates.

After much consideration we have decided to move the dates for this year's Maldon Festival of Arts.  The fvestival will now take place from 27th May - 4th July and will run on a format similar to the first festival in 2008 where most of the events take place over the weekends.  This will be five weekends in total.
